National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) is a public trust registered under Society Registration Act 1860 and Bombay Trust Act 1950. The trust was established in 1991 with a mission to Rural Development. NCRD realized, it's mission of rural development, can be possible by providing quality basic education (school education) to the rural masses. It established a school in the year 1994 in a rural village in Ambegaon Taluka of Pune district of Maharashtra state. NCRD gradually expanded the number of schools in other villages of rural Taluka of Ambegao National Centre for Rural Development moved its educational activities from rural to urban areas and expanded its horizon both in school and higher education. It established institutes of professional education like MMS (MBA), Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharma), Bachelor in Pharmacy (B. Pharma) and Master in Computer Application (MCA) and a degree college in commerce faculty under the brand name Sterling.These institutes are located in the area of Nerul which is identified as emerging educational hub of Navi Mumbai. NCRD has established 17 institutes imparting quality education from primary level to masters degree level in both rural and urban areas of Maharashtra.
